About Us
Supporting physical, mental & emotional wellbeing
The Yoga Hub is run by husband and wife – Janine & Shane Luck and conducts daily yoga classes for students of all levels, from beginners to experienced.
Established in 2012 by long time yoga practitioner and teacher Janine Luck, the studio was created with the vision of offering the people of Mount Isa and the surrounding district authentic yoga classes in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Our Aim
Our aim is to teach people the ancient art of yoga in a safe, gentle and intelligent way. Students learn to practice yoga responsively, in harmony with how they feel from day to day, moment to moment. Each student practices at a level appropriate to them, tailored towards their own needs and requirements
We strongly believe that yoga is for everybody and this continued ambition of ours is to help, encourage and nurture you to gain the greatest possible benefits you can from yoga

Sivananda is a form of Hatha Yoga, a traditional form in which the training focuses on preserving the health and wellness of the practitioner. Sivananda yoga revolves around relaxation, meditation, breath work and physical practice (working at each individuals level) with an emphasis on full yogic breathing.
It also aims to retain the vitality of the body and decrease the chance of disease by simply and naturally cultivating the body.
Classes averages 90 minutes and typically follows the below format
• Practitioner resting in relaxation
• Breathing exercises
• Sun Salutations (Spinal Movements)
• 12 Basic Postures (can include variations)
• Final Relaxation
Each person learns the same practice at a level which is appropriate for them, tailored towards their own needs and requirements
If you are feeling seriously stressed, burnt out, recovering from an injury or a major life event, Restorative Yoga will leave you feeling rested, restored, nourished and relaxed.
The practice provides you with props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks that support your body allowing you to hold the gentle postures for longer periods so you can completely relax and rest. It really is as effective physically as it is mentally.
Restorative yoga is simply that, restorative to the body and mind and is an excellent opportunity to disconnect from the hectic activity of daily life which allows you to rest deeply and reset yourself.
The restorative poses trigger the parasympathetic nervous system and this activation helps to mitigate the effects of the regular fight or flight stress response that can be so damaging to our physiology and well-being.
The overall calming effect of the nervous system sets a deeply relaxing tone for the class that comforts your mind and body down to a cellular level.
A session generally finishes with a deep relaxation session.
Modern life has our brain and adrenals “always-on”… We’re activated, stressed and rest-deprived like never before. This practice is about facilitating Nervous System Repair.

Testimonials
As a Natural Therapist I highly recommend Janine’s classes to my clients and anyone who will listen really! They are therapeutic in nature for many issues such as physical pain, stress, anxiety, depression, muscle imbalances and injury rehabilitation. Her anatomical knowledge is second to none and her teachings are based on nurturing the body, mind and soul, rather than a ‘no pain no gain’ approach, which many yoga/ stretch classes seem to be. On a personal level as a yoga enthusiast, her classes have enhanced my emotional and physical well-being overall more than any other class I have been to. I have tried many different styles of yoga, with many different teachers and I believe that Sivananda Yoga with Janine is by far the most holistically beneficial. I’m addicted. I feel renewed after her classes. Mount Isa is very lucky to have her here! Don’t believe me? Try it yourself!
As an active member of the community I have realised the importance of self-care. I started doing YOGA in 2013 and still remember the first day I participated due to the amazing effects I experienced. The feeling of calmness and peace with anxieties being dissolved, stresses of the day to day grind gone and my body felt so relaxed. The next morning I went for a run and I felt like I could fly. I felt like a new person and have never looked back. I have found the classes continually inspiring and motivational. Especially with the gentle natured encouragement coming from Janine that helps promote Inner Healing and the added bonus of Physical healing, increased flexibility and good health.
I thoroughly enjoy practicing yoga with Janine as her classes encourage participation for all ages and ability. The focus on the here and now, supporting each individuals awareness of their own process.
I’ve been practicing yoga with Janine at the Yoga Hub for almost 4 years now. Every class gives me something different and usually its something I didnt know I needed. When I roll out my mat, I drop out of the everyday world and go inside myself, thanks to Janine’s gentle teaching. Her classes are structured for every body and every ability. Never in a million years did I think I would be attempting to do a headstand! But here I am! Beginning a yoga practice at the Yoga Hub is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Namaste
One of the best things I ever did with one of the best teachers. Thank you Janine for the whole mind, body and soul experience.
